I’ve been looking for a nice tan, reddish eyeshadow for a while now. And it’s all the fault of Manon! She always wore the most beautiful one-wash eyeshadow and every time I’d ask her what eyeshadow she was using. And every time she’d reply: It’s the Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Riff.
There was a period of nothing but winged eyeliner, one with lot’s of glittery eyeshadow sticks and then later a lot of neutral crease-action. But lately, I’ve been feeling incredibly uninspired by my eye makeup and my makeup products. And then the lovely, most wonderful and generous Manon gifts me the Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Riff for my birthday, together with the perfect brush to apply it!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Riff is a brownish-red, suffused with a light glitter. On a very dark skinned person this might actually be considered a nude, but for my pale ass, this is definitely a very dark colour. I used it both as a light, all over wash of colour and to deepen and intensify my crease.
There is something insanely beautiful about this eyeshadow and I don’t know how to describe it. If you use a very light hand the sparkle is so subtle and the wash of colour so natural, but if used with a small brush it can produce a striking accent.
To accompany the Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Riff I also received the Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer. This brush, together with the eyeshadow is a revelation! I can use it to spread eyeshadow all over the lid, thanks to its flat shape. But with the thin, very straight top (do you call it that?), I can define my crease or buff out shadow along my lash line.
And guess what: I have used this eyeshadow every day since getting it. Sometime’s I use it on its own, then I’ll combine it with a chocolate brown shadow in the crease to make it pop. Overall a wonderful and versatile eyeshadow. And the best thing, even with constant use for about a month now (and some vigorous brush action) I can barely tell that I have used it. Pretty sure that I’ll be using this very pan of Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Riff for many years to come.
So, if you are looking for that perfect wash of sunset for your eyes, look no further than the Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Riff.
