Review: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

I only recently discovered that I really enjoy wearing matte eyeshadow. I know right? And you know how I found out? I hit pan on my cheap-as-chips alverde quattro palette. Clearly, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I’d been using that palette pretty much exclusively since I moved to London. Only when I wanted some shimmer or a different colour, did I reach for my Zoeva Nude Spectrum palette. Ever since I stopped wearing contact lenses, I’ve been using fewer glitter shadows and more muted, barely-there shadows. The Nude Spectrum palette has few of those. It is also far larger and unwieldy than either the quattro or the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2.

I had saved up some credit on feelunique.com and decided to treat myself to an eyeshadow palette that closes securely, is small and discreet and can produce a lot of different day looks. For a while, I tended between the Urban Decay Naked Basics and Basics 2, but ended up with the later since I do prefer a more cool toned palette. The Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 is simply perfect.

Another thing that is a big plus, in my opinion, is the mirror. Given that I bought this palette with travelling in mind, this is perfect.
Do you have a palette that you bought with a specific purpose in mind?
